Harvest Moon founder John Wherrett began his foray into the confectionery industry in Yorkshire nearly 50 years ago, perfecting the art of both product development and production before establishing his own business, York Dragee Co in 1987.

York Dragee quickly went from success to success, supplying an impressive range of confectionery products to major UK high street retailers in various sectors, including ice cream, breakfast cereals and yoghurt corners. The business was sold in 2000 to the Kerry Group and he continued to work as European R&D Director before retiring in 2015.

However, he couldn’t stay away from the industry long; in 2016 temptation prevailed and Harvest Moon was born, with the mission to produce healthy confectionery and snacks without compromising on taste.

Having developed a unique cluster process in the mid 1990’s, this pioneering technology has been developed further, tying in extensive experience in coating to create a range of both sweet and savoury healthy products for an ever-evolving market.

Thanks to this special coating technology, the company’s portfolio also includes a more indulgent range of nutritious (yet delicious) coated chocolate products - giving customers the best of both worlds.
